Prerequisites

  • Free or Paid Zoom Account. Only a Zoom admin can install the app.
  • A verified Smartsheet account.

Note: For the Mac Client, this chat app will only work for version 5.1.2 and up.

Installation and Configuration

Installing from Zoom Marketplace

  1. As a Zoom admin, Login to your Zoom account and navigate to the Zoom Marketplace.
  2. Search for Smartsheet and click on the app.
  1. Pre-approve the app if it is not already pre-approved.
  2. Click Install, confirm the app permissions and choose Authorize:
  1. You will see a success page, and the Zoom chat app for Smartsheet will be installed and available for all users in the Zoom account. The Smartsheet chat app will appear under the APPS section of the Zoom client:

Use setup command to connect, disconnect and configure subscriptions.

  1. After installing the Smartsheet app from the Zoom Marketplace, navigate to the 1:1 channel of Smartsheet app in the Zoom chat client.
  2. Enter the setup command or use the setup link from help command.
  3. The Smartsheet chat app will respond with a message containing a link to setup your account with Smartsheet.
  4. Click the link to authenticate to Smartsheet.
  1. On the web page that loads, click the Connect button and authorize your Smartsheet account.
  1. On successful authorization, you will see a success message on the webpage and the browser will load a configuration tab.

There is a configuration requirement: If you create or delete a sheet in your Smartsheet account, then to be able to configure notifications from those sheets, you must reauthorize your Smartsheet account with Zoom. Use the setup command to disconnect and re-connect your Smartsheet account.

Removing the Smartsheet chat app

  1. As a Zoom admin, login to your Zoom account and navigate to the Zoom Marketplace.
  2. Search for Smartsheet and click the app or navigate to your installed apps via Manage > Installed Apps.
  3. Click Uninstall next to Smartsheet.
  4. Confirm the dialogue and click Uninstall.
